If you wish to send my daughter a note of
encouragement and support or are willing to allow us to print your
story, please reply to the link below.
All e-mails will be confidential
and you will remain anonymous to the University. Coming forward
and sharing your story does not mean that you will have to talk to your
parents, the authorities, or any Dean or faculty member of UVA.
Your story will help me effect change at this
University so that predators will be dealt with accordingly.
From my own personal experience I can tell you that
although the University was notified of the incident and has discussed
it with my daughter on several occasions, they have yet to speak with
the person who raped her. He is allowed to navigate the campus freely
and without any fear that his personal or academic life will be
disrupted. I am appalled that the University would allow this to occur.
I trusted them and they failed.
And most importantly to me, your story will help my
daughter know that she is not alone in her pain.
